The following reaches The Ear from Piano Partners, the UW-Madison School of Music support and outreach group designed to help raise money for piano scholarships and to alert area piano fans to upcoming piano events:

The Music Teachers National Association UW-Madison Collegiate Chapter will hold piano concert in an intimate setting at the Steinway Piano Gallery (6629 Mineral Point Rd.) on Madison’s far west side. steinway

The concert will take place this Saturday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. Works by Chopin, Liszt and Schumann will be played by graduate piano students.

A reception, donated by Panera bread, will follow.

In an attempt to help musicians reduce injury caused by over-use and bring awareness about stress-preventive physical activities, Piano Partners will be hosting Musicians’ Wellness Day for the second year. We have invited experts in the fields of Yoga, Feldenkrais and Laban Movement Analysis to give workshops to UW-Madison students and faculty.

All donations from the concert will go towards funding this event. The suggested donation is $10.
