Sometimes I blog my own ideas. But sometimes I also like to provide links to other classical music bloggers and web sites.

After all, thousands of classical music blogs and web sites exist of there in cyberspace. So I think that is a useful service to readers of The Well-Tempered Ear.

At least I hope it is.

Today I want to pass on another list of Top Classical Music CDs of 2009 I came across.

It is from the critic Richard Scheinin of the San Jose Mercury News and I agree with almost all of the choices. So if you are looking to spend some holiday cash or gift cards, maybe this will be helpful.

I also particularly like the introductory comments about how some years a certain instrument (piano) and a certain nationality (French) dominate such listings — not because of the blogger’s own biases (which certainly can and does happen) but just by chance and the quirks of the industry.

Let me know how useful links to other blogs and website are.

And let me know what you thought of this critic’s choices and whether you trust them or would add to them or change them.

The Ear wants to hear.
