A long and loyal friend of this blog wrote recently:
“I heard this beautiful quartet from “Fidelio,” Beethoven’s only opera, while I was driving out to Spring Green last night — just thought you might enjoy hearing it, too.”
“I’m not that familiar with “Fidelio,” the Loyal Reader continued, so it came as quite a revelation.”
The reader is absolutely right. It is lovely. And not being a big opera fan, it was new to The Ear.
So maybe it will be new to you too.
